Alexander McCall Smith is a literary phenomenon, a force of nature and a seemingly limitless source of light and laughs for readers across the world.

The Edinburgh-based author of more than 60 novels for adults and 50 novels for children is read in 46 different languages. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of his most famous series, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. It’s a series that has sold more than 25 million copies in English alone. McCall’s novels – whether comic family dramas set in Edinburgh’s New Town or cosy mysteries in Gaborone, Botswana – are warm, witty, wise and completely irresistible.

In March, McCall Smith is coming to Australia with new books from the Scotland Street series (A Time of Love and Tartan), the School Ship Tobermory children’s series (The Race to Kangaroo Cliff) and a new stand-alone novel, The Good Pilot Peter Woodhouse.

Join one of the world’s most charming and prolific storytellers for a discussion of creativity, comedy and collaboration.
